“Dark Sorcery”, Museum of Comic & Cartoon Art 2011

This painting was done in support of “Dark Sorcery”, a comedic love letter to the fantasy genre, written & drawn by 2 of my good friends, Andy Lee Chaisiri and Joshua Santamaria. I’ve read it and will vouch for its hilarity and genuine love of the genre. The pilot will debut at Museum of Comic & Cartoon Art Festival this weekend. It will feature guest art submissions by Andy (the writer), Richmond Lee Chaisiri and me.

Here’s a picture of Andy, me and Josh so you know who to find. The two of them will be there personally to hand you, your very own copy of Dark Sorcery.

Those of you who are in New York, stop by and say hi!

  1. Ah dude I’m still waiting for your own comic book! haha If you ever decide to write/draw/create one, you’ll have at least one confirmed reader right here!

  2. You will be one of the very first to know when it does happen. Thanks, Hisyam!

  3. Glad to hear this! Best of luck to Andy and Josh–and Weigy…nice illustration! Looks like youve tamed that cintiq of yours!

  4. Lateef, I wish I could have been there with them!

Our next reunion should be in New York, sipping our choice of drinks, with sketchbooks out, stomachs full and conversations that fill our heart! It’s still one of my absolute cities.
