Rolling Some Iron

Iron GladiatorA while ago, an entertaining blogger & friend, Tim Maughan approached me to do a few, quick mecha designs for a short story of his, “Havana Augmented”. The story features a giant robot, it was a good excuse for me to sneak in a giant robot or two into my schedule then.

An old sketch did find a little of itself seeping into what was eventually the final design for his short story.

It's a robotCome to think of it, a giant robot might be the only thing I’ve never attempted to paint in traditional media. You’d think with just how important giant robots are in this world, it’d be included among the usual staple choice of still life subjects.

…I think I’ve found what I want to do over Christmas break besides traveling, eating, drawing, messing with my new roommate’s dogs, buying art books and sleeping.

I’ll be oiling my gears,

Signed, WEIGY
